About Me

A strong advocate for the power of words and storytelling, I bring executive-level leadership experience coupled with a PhD specialization in narrative and storytelling. I’ve led a marketing department, directed content and brand strategy teams, overseen global partnerships with PR firms, worked in agency settings, and even published an award-winning mystery novel.

Equally comfortable driving both content/brand strategy and creative execution, I deliver tangible results, build productive partnerships (both internal and external), and believe in making metrics-driven decisions to track effectiveness and refine as needed. I also provide a strong commercial focus that includes ownership of market research, product positioning, and collaborating with other senior-level leaders to develop strategies that link marketing plans and storytelling to broader brand and business objectives.

My narrative and content beliefs

Much more than mere window dressing for a brand, content and story are key intersection points between a business and its audiences. Narrative acts as a vehicle for creating and celebrating shared meaning, for developing community, for forging a sense of empathy and connection to others. Strong storytelling builds emotional ties, grows brand awareness, explains complex ideas in an approachable way, or nurtures advancement through a sales funnel. The story of my own career is finding ways to use my belief in story and background in narrative to find the best words, content, and storytelling to advance a brand or business opportunity.
